THE CHAW'SE HOUSE: 2015 marks the inaugural year for the Chaw'se House. Inspired by the Tuolumne river that babbles by the house, the dark blue exterior opens to a colorful interior and brand new furnishings. The views of the river are prime from almost every room and the large deck. The downstairs has an open floor plan allowing guests to continually enjoy each other's company while in the kitchen, dining room, or living room. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher. The bedrooms in the house are as follows: Bedroom #1 (Blue room): Master bedroom with an ensuite and queen size bed downstairs. Bedroom #2 (Olive Green Room) : Queen size bed downstairs. Bedroom#3 (Red Room): Located upstairs. This room has a King sized bed. In addition separated by an optional privacy screen, there is a twin sized bunk bed with a twin sized trundle bed (sleeping a total of 3). Bedroom #4 (Green Room): Located upstairs this room has a King sized bed on one side of the room. On the other side of the room (and separated by a privacy screen if desired) is a Queen sized bed. The Chaw'se House is fully equipped with central heat and air, 3 bathrooms, washer and dryer, dishwasher, flat screen TV (in the living room), DVD player, both indoor dining area and outdoor dining on the deck, and the perfect location for lazy day lounging by the river. We also have large gardens and lawns to play games and explore not to mention that we are in the middle of national forest so there is quite a bit of hiking that can be done right here at Spinning Wheel Yosemite. Main cabin must be rented to rent the bunk house. Bunkhouse has 3 bedrooms with a queen bed in each. Bunkhouse also has bunk beds that sleep 4. The total of private rooms is two in the main cabin and three in the bunkhouse. The bunk beds are on one side of the main room in the bunkhouse. Total number of beds in the main cabin and bunkhouse is 4 queen beds, 4 double beds, and five single beds. The family can hike or bike on the many back roads and trails near the cabin. South and Middle fork of the Tuolumne River is within two miles of the cabin for fishing or swimming. In response to the covid 19 situation, and with our guests and housekeepers' safety in mind, we have instituted a 24 to 72 hour vacancy between reservations, as well as heightened our rigorous housekeeping procedures. Approximately 5 minutes/miles from the West Entrance to Yosemite National Park just off Highway 120 at 3,800 foot elevation, and about 20 miles to the charming Gold Rush town of Groveland. The cabin is actually located on the historic Big Oak Flat Road into Yosemite National Park which was used by those traveling from the San Francisco Bay Area. Decades ago, the owner of the property in this area actually installed a number of gates along this road in an attempt to inconvenience and discourage those venturing into Yosemite. Obviously, today he is no longer a factor, and people are no longer discouraged from enjoying this beautiful national treasure. YOSEMITE RIVER CABIN . . . A beautiful retreat for up to 6 guests, or honeymoon getaway for two, nature vacation, and fabulous family recreation experience. THE RIVER . . . Yosemite River Cabin is situated on nearly 1.25 acres, mostly flat, with beautiful pines, dogwood and cedar. In the evening you'll enjoy moon rises over your back yard. If you arrive in the vicinity of a full moon, you may enjoy a mystical experience from your rear porch. Sip wine on the porch and relax to river sounds and the sounds of the forest while enjoying one of the good books provided, or stroll a hundred feet or so to the river's edge for soothing moments of relaxation and beauty. Your cabin has over three hundred feet of river frontage at the back and to the right of the property. It is located on the South Fork of the Tuolumne River right at the confluence where Big Creek flows into the Tuolumne from its opposite bank. NATURE IS ABUNDANT . . . We've noticed when we are in the San Francisco Area where we maintain our other home, we no longer smell fragrances or see wildlife that is as abundant as at Yosemite National Park and Yosemite River Cabin. In nature fragrances and wildlife are plentiful. At the Yosemite River Cabin we have seen swarms of ladybugs, beautiful butterflies (including Blue Dots), fish in the river, lizards, foxes up the road (but so far not on the property), deer (regularly in the area), and a bobcat once. We've even seen a couple bears a few miles away inside the park at Crane Flat, a very common place to view bear we're told. (Crane Flat is also a convenient destination for cross country skiing in Winter.) Yosemite River Cabin is truly a place to see and experience sites uncommon to our daily lives. THE PROPERTY . . . Nearly level, the property provides plenty of room for play or relaxation. Enjoy a barbeque, relax in the sun, play in the snow (from time to time in the Winter), or hike and experience nature along one of the many nearby trails. Located within a mile of Yosemite River Cabin at Highway 120 is a general store, which provides some food service and which is a handy place for extra supplies, charcoal, maps, gas, chains in Winter, and souvenirs. YOSEMITE RIVER CABIN ACCOMMODATIONS . . . Your cabin is fully equipped with a full kitchen, including granite counters, farm house sink, gas range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, disposal and refrigerator. Pots, pans, utensils, glasses, teapot, coffee maker, toaster and much more are provided. The living area includes a dining table with back yard view, living room with leather sofa, leather chair, flat screen HDTV for DVD movies or CD music. Over 100 movies are provided, numerous board games and two or three dozen books, including some great history on the area. Also, available is wireless Internet access if needed. In addition, you'll find on the wall in the hall a government topographic map of the section to familiarize yourself with the area. Each room has a unique designer ceiling fan as well as it's own distinct character. In the living room you will find a propane gas stove which thermostatically controls cabin temperature. Out your back door is a raised porch with a view of the yard and the forest that is perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or juice and taking in the beauty of your surroundings. Indian arrowheads have been found on the property, and Indian grinding and birthing stones are in the immediate area. SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS . . . Yosemite River Cabin includes three bedrooms. Bedroom One has a queen bed, Bedroom Two also has a queen, and Bedroom Three now has a double bed. This cabin is ideal for up to 6 persons. Rooms have armoires and chests for clothing and storage. RESTAURANTS IN AREA . . . Within a few minutes are two very good restaurants. Evergreen Lodge on Evergreen Road is our nearby favorite with a wide range of exceptional offerings. They also provide a nice selection of wines to accompany your meal and from time to time provide live music and popular music festivals on their grounds. A second nearby choice, the new Rush Creek Lodge Restaurant, is located even closer to us, just 4 miles up the highway. A sister property to Evergreen Lodge, with a more 'bistro style' menu has a bar adjoining, is a nice place for a quick 'night on the town', and just a mile from Yosemite. A RULE OR TWO: This charming smoke-free cabin has been extensively remodeled in luxurious fashion. It is a NO SMOKING, NO PETS facility. MEADOW LARK BUNGALOW CABIN A beautiful two-room bungalow style cabin handsomely designed in the 'Craftsman Style' of fine woodworking. This studio cabin offers 2 beds including a queen in the main room along with the kitchen and dining area, and a double in the second room. The kitchen is well equipped and dining table seats 4. The private bathroom, with a shower, is off of the second room. The cabin is situated over-looking our lovely meadow and frog pond with mountain and forest views from the sun porch, ideal to take in those sunsets for which we are so aptly named. This lovely cabin will accommodate from 2 to 4 guests. Just 2.5 miles to Yosemite, but worlds apart from the 'bustle' of Yosemite Valley. Take a walk in the woods right out your door, or relax on your porch while enjoying the peaceful serenity of this secluded setting. AMENITIES Beautiful quilts adorn the beds. Soap, shampoo & fluffy bath towels are provided, as well as beach towels for outdoor use. The kitchen is well equipped with a four burner range & oven, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, blender, and full size refrigerator, along with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, even dish soap, as well as coffee and tea for you to prepare as you like. Included are dining areas indoors as well as out, a rocking chair in the main room, and another chair in the second room. For entertainment, aside from the great outdoors, your cabin is outfitted with playing cards, board games and puzzles as well as books, magazines and local literature, including park information. For your comfort, there is an air conditioner as well as ceiling fans in both rooms. For chilly mornings propane heating is provided, including a gas parlor stove where you can watch the fire. Outside on the deck you will find a dining table and several chairs, as well as a charcoal barbecue grill just off the deck. A picnic table is available in our idyllic meadow, along with a swing, frog pond, and farm yard chickens, for outdoor enjoyment. RIFUGIO DI MONTAGNA IS ITALIAN FOR 'MOUNTAIN REFUGE' ~ Our refuge in the Dodge Ridge/Pinecrest area at 5,300 ft elevation is the perfect place for you and your family and friends to spend together in a unique combination of brand new construction infused with traditional memorabilia. THE PINECREST TRADITION BEGAN WITH GRANDPA AND GRANDMA IN THE '50's ~ This 2,200 square foot mountain home was lovingly constructed in 2007 as a place to recharge and relax, and is located on a quiet street in Cold Springs. Having grown up with grandparents who owned a cabin in the area for many years, this home was built after thoughtful planning and much creativity to use and enjoy some of the furnishings that were located in the old cabin. Rifugio di Montagna was actually designed 'around' the grand old dining room table which can seat up to 12 and is the focal point of the home. A BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF RIFUGIO ~ The slate floors and granite countertops of the interior are combined with the natural colors of the outdoors making for a warm and cozy refuge for your mind and spirit. The living areas were specifically made to be the largest rooms in the cabin and to flow together. The spacious kitchen has an island and a breakfast bar which opens to the dining room, which in turn is connected to the 24' high ceilinged Great Room. The Master Suite is also located on this floor and has it's own entry AND A KING SIZE BED. You will feel as though you are showering outside under a waterfall in the oversized, full slate shower in the ensuite Master Bathroom. The loft upstairs has a sectional couch that quickly converts to a Queen sleeper. This room overlooks the Great Room and is flanked by two bedrooms, BOTH OF WHICH HAVE KING-SIZE MATTRESSES. (No more arguing over who has to take the 'little' bed!!!) There is also a full bathroom on this floor with a tub/shower combo. All of the beds are fitted with 500 and 400 thread count sheets, beautiful hand-crafted quilts, and 100% goose down comforters. The two raised twin-sized Deluxe AeroBeds can be automatically inflated in three minutes and can be used in any room where there is carpeting allowing families great flexibility for sleeping. We also have a full foam mattress that can be used on the floor in any of the bedrooms or the loft. The 560 square foot front deck wraps around three sides of the house, bringing the outdoors right to your feet. And who wants to eat indoors when the perfect Summer weather calls you outside to dine on our custom-made, bar height picnic table? As an alternative, sit out on the back deck which offers a view of the landscaped area and the undeveloped forest beyond. The cozy cabin is tucked away amongst the pines in the High Sierra Mountains, and is a great way to get away from it all and back to nature. Just minutes away from PINECREST LAKE and DODGE RIDGE SKI RESORT and a short drive to TWAIN HARTE and SONORA/COLUMBIA this cabin is a great way to spend your summers at the lake or your winters in the snow. This 1,300 sq ft, two story 3 bedroom and 2 full bathroom cabin is the perfect way to spend time with family or get together with friends. The cabin has a fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to prepare meals. The cabin backs up to wilderness (no houses behind us) with views of pine and cedar trees and dodge mountain ridge.There is a nice deck with a dining table,chairs, sun umbrella and bbq for you to cook and eat outside during the warmer months. There is also relaxing chairs for you to just sit and enjoy the beautiful views or my personal favorite having morning coffee and watching the sun come up over the mountain ridge. Cabin also has lots of board games and DVD’s! *** ADDITIONAL INFORMATION*** During winter snow months we strongly encourage you to carry chains at all times. Chain requirement will be enforced in a snow storm. Verizon is the only cell carrier that works in the area. We encourage you to print driving instructions or put the address in your maps app before starting off on the trip. Once you lose reception you will still be able to get the directions if the address was entered into the maps app. If arriving to the cabin at night, we do have a security light that gives a nice amount of light to help show your way to the front door. WE DO OFFER WIFI. In an effort to keep the nightly cost down you have the option to purchase WIFI for $10.00 a day, $30.00 max if you like. SNOW SHOVELING. we have provided snow shovels and ice melt. If you are at the cabin during or after a snow storm, you would use the shovels to shovel the snow off of the stairs and to create a walking path. You also may put the snow melt on the stairs AFTER they have been shoveled to keep them from becoming icy. PARKING There is space in front of the house off the street for 2 to 3 cars to park. There is also street parking. In the winter months if there is snow you will only be able to park in the spaces in front of the house; no street parking. This is to ensure that the snow plow vehicles are able to plow the streets. We always have the space in front of the house plowed before a guest arrives. If the guest is arriving during a snow storm the plowed space may have filled in some. This may require the guest to use the use the shovel to shovel the space some. Please also be sure to not park in such a manner that prohibits access to the neighboring house. In the winter months we do our best to provide fire wood and kindling for our guests, but since there is no way to tell how much wood a guest will need or a previous guest may have used, you may have to purchase your own. There are several stores on the highway that sell fire wood for your convenience. If you are unfamiliar with starting a fire, we recommend you bring extra kindling. Fire starter sticks and paper bags work well. BED LINENS AND TOWELS Due to COVID -19 we are not providing bedding . BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS, SHEETS , BLANKETS. White bath towels that will get laundered and bleached after each guest will be provided. *****HOUSE RULES***** Please treat our house as you would your own. Please no shoes in the house. There is a lot of room in the front hall when you walk in the front door to store your shoes. If possible, to conserve energy in the winter months please utilize the wood burning stove. The stove heats the house more efficiently than the heater. If you are not familiar with operating a wood stove we can guide you. Even if you are not using the heater, in the winter month we ask that the heater be left on the lowest temperature, to keep the pipes from freezing. We do not want the house to become too cold when no one is staying there. Our cabin is on a septic tank. ONLY FLUSH TOILET PAPER. No feminine products or wipes of any kind, baby or flushable. GARBAGE: Garbage pick up is 6am Monday mornings. If you are staying at the cabin during garbage pick up please put your trash in the bin the night before. Please pull the bin out to the street so the garbage men can get to it. Make sure your vehicles are not blocking the bins. PLEASE SECURE THE LID. Wild life WILL get into the cans. The 1800 square foot open floor-plan means no one feels left out. The covered deck increases the living space in the summer even more with cozy couches to lounge on while looking out at the beautiful trees. Families - there is lots for the kids to explore inside when it's time to relax so don't worry about the lack of electronics. The third bedroom is huge and we decided not to load it with beds so it can be used as our family room. It has a closet full of games and toys, it's own tv and a kids video library. The house is located a small development with little traffic, especially mid-week. The Peter Pam area is adjacent to the Stanislaus National Forest so there are open spaces walking distance from the house to explore and hike. Check out our trip book for a little map of trailheads. The cabin is located in a small quiet division called Peter Pam. Easy access to highway 108 makes it a quick trip to anywhere you want to go. Mia's restaurant is just a few minutes drive for a great traditional dinner, or watch them spin your pizza and catch up on sports. It's just 5 miles from Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and the Pinecrest Lake area. Twain Harte, which is 10 minutes down the hill, offers local charm, a golf course, restaurants, a playground, mini-golf and a community swimming pool. There are lots of rivers and lakes to explore, hiking, horseback riding, and even ice skating in the winter. Check out our day trip guide in the cabin for our favorite "locals only" spots. Internet: The house does have "high speed" wifi, however, the only service available in the area is satellite on a data plan. It is not meant to be able to stream movies or gaming, but as a way to communicate with the outside world, which is hard to do this high up the mountain. Checking the internet and browsing the web work well. If you must have more, I advise staying in MiWuk or lower on the mountain. I thought I would clarify this because I see complaints on other home reviews in the area. Driveway: Our driveway is plowed in the winter and the walkway is covered. There is plenty of level parking just steps from the house and steps from the road. Easy in and out for quick start to the slopes. Extra guests: This is a large home. We advertise it as 8-9 guests because we haven't stacked it with beds and prefer not to. It can accommodate another 2-3 people on the sofa bed in the living area and the floor space in the playroom. There are 2-3 extra crib mattresses that little kids can sleep on. Should you need linens and bedding for extra guests, please make sure to declare them. The cleaning company charges additionally for each load of laundry and only leaves the appropriate amount of towels and linens for expected guests. Allergy Friendly: Hardwood floors, honeycomb blinds, washable carpet squares and few nick-nacks give the house a clean, breathable feel. We also have an electric air purifier on the upper floor should you need it. Playroom toys: There really is something for all age groups. Large train set, zhu zhu pets with large buildable track, bin of K'nex, play kitchen, dollhouses, dress up, puzzles, games for all ages and baby toys. Yard: The yard is level with a very slight downslope. Easy for building snow forts and snowmen. The kids often try to make a little sledding slope down through the trees. It's fun, but safe enough because they can't really get much speed if they stay in our yard. Decks: There is a covered deck off the main floor. There is currently a swing and a hammock swing attached to the ceiling for the kids to play on. In the summer we add two couches for relaxing. Weather: While we always hope for positive weather conditions for our guests, but cannot refund due to conditions you may see as unfavorable - including lack of snow or a possible heat wave. Blackouts are a common experience in the mountains as well. Our home has water, heating and a stovetop that runs on propane. We provide candles as well. Bringing a few flashlights is recommended, as it's been impossible to keep them in the cabin for guests - they get misplaced and the batteries tend to run out when you need them.

We are two families who joined forces 20 years ago to buy a piece of paradise in Cold Springs. At the time, we had young children who, in the Summer, spent many happy hours and days swimming in Pinecrest Lake, kayaking in the Summer, hiking in the Emigrant Wilderness, and horseback riding. In the Winter, our days were spent learning how to snowboard at Dodge Ridge (we had to learn too, to keep up with them!), ice skating in Long Barn, snowshoeing, and sledding in the snow where ever we find a spot. Now our children love to use Cold Springs as a base for backpacking explorations and our grandchildren are some of the most frequent and enthusiastic visitors! We've had Alpine Retreat for ten years. This is a special home that provides the perfect place for large gatherings. The three king bedrooms are of equal size - so it's as well-equipped for three couples as it is for multiple families with children. The master suite is located on the main floor and has a large walk-in shower. Upstairs are the two additional bedrooms and full bath. We have two comfy queen airbeds, easily setup in the loft, great room, or out on the deck, for extra seeping space. The spacious kitchen and bar area have a view into both the dining room and the great room (with 24' high ceiling), perfect for family events involving cooking, dining, and entertainment. The loft upstairs provides additional gathering space, optional sleeping area, or just a peaceful place to read and enjoy the views through the double height great room windows. There are many games, puzzles, and an excellent DVD collection. In fair weather, the wrap-around deck is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the mountain air, an evening sunset, the stars, and even sleeping. A large picnic table provides outdoor dining space for eight. An umbrella and six patio chairs offer plenty of space to relax. We love this area for many reasons: First, Pinecrest Lake is a gem. The water is perfect for boating, kayaking, fishing, and swimming during the summer. We love to rent kayaks, paddle to the far side the lake and find a perfect spot for picnicking and swimming. We never tire of the four mile hike around the lake, with gorgeous views at every turn and the option of a side trip to Cleo's Bath in the Spring. More adventurous hikes are nearby in Emigrant Wilderness and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness areas. Sonora Pass, just a 35-mile drive, offers spectacular scenery and more hiking. And, of course, Dodge Ridge ski resort is close by for skiing, snow boarding, and snowshoeing. We want your stay at the Knotty Retreat to be stress free so we have provided all the comforts of home so that you don't have to pack as much for your stay. Our cabin has two rooms with queen beds, a loft with a full pull out couch and a futon located in the downstairs livingroom that transforms into a bed with a feather bed topper. All beds have freshly washed linens, down comforters, bamboo pillows and 3 inch memory foam Mattress topper to ensure a peaceful nights sleep. The cabin offers a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes and cooking utensils. In the winter months enjoy sledding in front of the property or a day at the slopes. In the summer months enjoy a day at the lake swimming, fishing, paddle boating and more. In the evenings you can enjoy a glass of wine on the porch surrounded by outside patio lighting. We have provided two shovels at the property one on the lower deck and one on the top deck. If you are at the property during a snowstorm you would utilize the shovel to shovel off the deck. We have also provided 1 bucket of Ice melt. Once the deck is shoveled you would sprinkle the Ice melt on the deck. This will help with keeping the stairs and deck clear. you can purchase additional Ice melt at the Ace Hardware store in Twain Harte Parking We have a circular paved driveway that you could park three average sized vehicles on. In the winter months if it is snowing you will be required to park on the driveway and not the road. This is to ensure that the snowplow vehicles are able to plow the road daily around 3 PM. This might require shoveling snow on driveway to access a parking spot. We want to make sure you don't receive a hefty ticket from city. In the winter months we do not provide the firewood. There are several stores on the highway that sell bundles of firewood for your convenience. If you are not familiar with making a fire we recommend that you bring up extra kindling. That could be fire starter sticks , old magazines or newspaper. **House Rules ** Please treat our home as you would your own. Please no sledding on our neighbors property. Our property is okay :). No pets. If pets are brought up to the cabin, your deposit will not be returned. No smoking- This is a non smoking property. If smoking is detected in the house, your deposit will not be returned. Any type of illegal drug use or excessive drinking will terminate the rental agreement and your deposit will not be returned. DEPARTURE Please strip all beds of sheets and place in the large laundry bag located downstairs upon leaving, as well as towels. TRASH must be placed in the large bear proof trash can at the front of the property. please ensure the lid is latched securely upon departure. Trash pick up is 6am Monday mornings. if your reservation is on a Monday, we kindly ask you to pull the trash can down to the street.
